Carter Web

Craig Carter (Sr Warden)  Craig grew up in Grand Blanc Michigan and moved to Pittsburgh in 1988 with his wife, Kathy. He has a bachelor’s degree in computer science from University of Michigan and masters in information science from the University of Pittsburgh. Craig works as a Systems Analyst for PNC Bank. His hobbies include golf, biking, playing piano and composing music.  Craig found his church home at St. David’s  in 2013.  He was drawn to the church by the warmth of the parishioners and the consistent message of God’s grace and unconditional acceptance. Since he began attending St. David’s, Craig has supported the community garden, served on the audit committee, and plays keyboards in the Praise Band.  Craig views serving on the Vestry is an opportunity to support the ministry of St. David’s and looks forward to continued fellowship with his fellow parishioners and the community.


 

Daphne Kitchta (Jr Warden) – Daphne grew up in Bethel Park and attended St. David’s as a child. During her high school years, she sang with the junior choir.  She returned to St David’s in 2012, and has been an active member of the church since that time serving on a variety of committees, including hospitality and building and grounds, and serves on the Altar Guild.  She has also contributed to the success of the community garden through her     volunteerism, serves as a lay reader, and sings with the Praise Band.  While Daphne, who holds s law degree, has many talents and interests, she is perhaps best known by the Parishioners of St. David’s for  her kind heart and gentle spirit.  She is honored to be considered as a Vestry member and looks forward to serving the St David’s family in the coming years. Daphne lives in Bethel Park with her husband, Larry.


 

Marc Palmieri

 

Marc Palmieri (Treasurer) –  In October, I moved back to Upper St. Clair, where I grew up, from the DC Metro area with my wife, Katie, and daughters, Ava and Anna Grace. I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from Virginia Tech, where I met my wife, Katie.  I enjoy playing with my children, watching sports and exercising. I was raised Catholic and recently was received into the Episcopal Church while living in Virginia.  We are blessed to find such a wonderful church as St. David’s and I am looking forward to my new position as Treasurer.


 

 

Rubenstein Web

Justin Rubenstein  – Justin has been attending St. David’s with his family since the September 2013 Community Picnic. He was confirmed into the Episcopal Church by Bishop McConnell in 2014. Justin is a lawyer and now works in-house for an energy company.

 

 

 


 

Karen Galilei

Karen Galilei – Karen resides in Bethel Park with her husband Roger and two youngest children, Lara who attends St. David’s and Christopher, who also has special needs.  Karen’s oldest daughter Jessica is an occupational therapist in Boston.  Karen began attending St. David’s in 2004. She left briefly after the split until she followed her heart back to her church home, three years ago.  Karen is a school psychologist/administrator for the Allegheny Intermediate Unit’s DART program. The program provides educational services to preschool aged children with special needs living in Allegheny County.  Her two greatest passions are her dogs (Smudge a Jack Russell Terrier and Morris a Rescue Jack Russell mix) and music. She is honored to sing with the worship team and has recently begun taking guitar lessons.


 

Mike Gardner

Mike Gardner – Michael William Gardner was born on April 20, 1955. He grew up in Dormont, PA and graduated from Keystone Oaks High School in 1973. He attended the University of Pittsburgh and graduated in 1975 with a B.A. in Administration of Justice. He served in the United States Army from 1976-1980 as a Lt. in the Military Police Corps. Platoon Leader, Executive Officer 101st MP Co. 101st Airborne Division. From 1980 to the present he serves as Vice President of Gardner Moving Co. and Secure Storage Inc. He has been married to his high school sweetheart, Lynn Dansey, since 1981. Together, they have 2 children, Alexandra Green (Son-in-law, Jason Green and Granddaughter, Autumn) and Son, Michael. They have lived in Bethel Park since 1987.


 

 

Katie Palmieri

Katie Palmieri – Katie grew up in Virginia and moved to Pittsburgh in September 2015.  She has a bachelor’s degree from Virginia Tech, her certification in teaching from Radford University, and is an Early Childhood Teacher.  A lifelong Episcopalian, she has previously worked with the Diocese of Virginia on a planning board for youth ministries, a summer camp counselor for Episcopal camps, and volunteered through mission trips in the Dominican Republic through the church.  She feels blessed to have found St. David’s Church, a sanctuary of peace and rejuvenation for herself and her family, and looks forward to giving back to the church and the community. She currently lives in Upper St. Clair with her husband, Marc, two daughters, Ava and Anna Grace, and dog Sam.

 


 

 

Matt AccamandoMatthew Accamando – Matthew began attending St Davids three years ago after meeting Fr. Kris at a funeral.  He is a Pittsburgh native who attended college at Virginia Tech and graduated with a degree in Marketing.  While at Virginia Tech he worked at a hotel on campus where he met his future wife, Julie.  After graduation Matt spent a year in Jackson, WY to hone his skiing and fly-fishing skills.  Matt is part owner of Fairfield Landscaping, Inc, a small business that he helped form back in high school.  Matt has been married for 11 years to his wife Julie.  They live in McMurray with their three children; Abigail – 6, Edward – 4, and Rosie – 1 ½ years old.

 


 

 

Elaine Coleman 2

Elaine Coleman (Secretary)Elaine is a life-long Episcopalian, confirmed at St. Peter’s Brentwood.  She was the first woman ever to usher at Trinity Cathedral.  She was born in the East End of Pittsburgh and attended Montessori School on Friendship Avenue.  After her parents moved to the South Hills she graduated from Baldwin High School and the University of Pittsburgh, Magna Cum Laude, Legal Studies – Administration of Justice.  She worked at U.S. Steel  Corp. as an Administrative Assistant until the reduction of personnel in the 1980s, moving on as Executive Legal Secretary at Klett Lieber Rooney & Schorling which merged into Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney Law Offices.  Presently retired, she enjoys gardening, cooking, music, painting, animals, wildlife and being involved in the Episcopal Church.


Elizabeth Cochran – Elizabeth grew up in Texas and is the daughter of a United Methodist pastor. She and her husband Michael moved to Pittsburgh ten years ago when Elizabeth became part of the faculty in the theology department at Duquesne University. They were active in another local congregation but began to look for a better fit for their family after adopting Luke and Caleb. They started attending St. David’s in March 2015 and have found the parish to be a welcoming, worshipful, and supportive setting. 

 


Sam White – Sam was baptized and confirmed at St. David’s. He is greatly looking forward to marrying his fiancé Marissa Lindsay in 2018. Sam, a 27 year old graduate from Duquesne’s math education program, has spent his entire life going to St. David’s and volunteering his time to support the church. As a teenager he enjoyed attending and eventually helping to lead youth group activities. He is currently the longest tenured member of the St. David’s worship band, who began playing with the group back in 2004. Besides playing in the worship band, Sam also volunteers his time at St. David’s as a reader, counter, and auditor. He currently lives with his parents in Upper St. Clair, biding his time, and saving for the upcoming wedding while working as an actuary for Highmark.
